Well, it seems IE is giving a few headaches to some of you trying to login at either the forum or this site. If that's your case, please click read more for hints on how to sort it out.
First off, you should know that this site and the forum do not share the same user database so that means you'll have to register separately.
If, while trying to login at the forum you get the following error message:
Username does not exist. -
MTgwOkFudG9uaW86MGFjOTBlZjc0MGsfxzhNTU2ZjgyN2U1ZmsdwedtdaYjgyNW EddfsMTA6OjA6MDowgfDOjA6Ojee235QwOTY=: YOUR_PASSWORD_HERE
Chances are IE is not storing the coookie properly, and YabbSE (the forum script) is not reading the cookie the way it should. So before proceeding, delete the old cookies by Tools-> Internet Options->General-> Delete cookies
Now you should set your privacy settings to not higher than medium and close the browser. Once it's done, open a new browser window and load the page, a red forbidden icon should appear at the bottom of the screen, at the browser's status bar. Double click on it and a window will appear, select the line and right click on it, select "Always accept cookies from this site" or something like that.
Now, and only now, can you safely login at both the forum or the main site (remember you have two different accounts/passwords) and everything should be working properly.
Nasty, huh? Well, you can safely avoid all this mess if you download Mozilla or Opera, you know, *real* internet browsers without all the hype and all these annoying bugs.
Thank you, Microsoft.
A few more hints taken from YabbSE support board:
Go to tools > internet options > privacy > Advanced > then check the box "Override automatic cookie handling"
Another possible cause of log in problems, where you log in and then become guest when you change pages, is caused by firewalls. For instance, if you have ZoneAlarm set to block cookies, make sure you add your YABB site to the Privacy Site List and enable persistent cookies.
